IT giants limit ChatGPT usage amid security concerns

Besides Amazon, telecom company Verizon and IT giant Accenture have also limited ChatGPT usage over concerns about client information. Amazon told its staff last month not to share sensitive information or codes with (naked url) ChatGPT.

It was reported that some of Amazon’s staff had accessed confidential customer information using ChatGPT, so the company decided to restrict its use of the tool.

Accenture has implemented stricter controls on ChatGPT use to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations, while Verizon advises employees not to use the tool for sensitive tasks.

While AI tools like ChatGPT offer significant benefits but at the same time they can also pose risks to data security and privacy if not used appropriately.
